Peter is the CEO of “Fortress Partners” which specialises in providing independent directors and strategic advisory services to a limited number of asset managers, advisory firms, family offices, onshore and offshore funds and operating companies. These services include non-executive directorships and strategic advisory support. Fortress Partners is domiciled in the UAE and Peter is regulated as a director by the FCA in the UK, CIMA in the Cayman Islands and the DFSA / FSRA in the UAE. Fortress is partnered with several “best-in-class” service providers in the GCC.

Peter has over 25 years of experience managing the financial, risk and operational infrastructure of global alternative asset managers. During his career, he has worked with and been a Board member of both onshore and offshore funds, Limited Partnerships and corporate entities. He has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the corporate governance needs of these companies, funds and LP's, having worked with the leading global regulators, such as the UK’s FCA, Hong Kong’s SFC, the OCC in the US, the CBB in Bahrain and DFSA in Dubai. His product knowledge is extensive and covers the whole alternative investment spectrum, including equities, bonds, derivatives, real estate, hedge funds, CDO's, CLO's, SIV's, RMBS and private equity partnerships.

Peter spent over 14 years at Citigroup Alternative Investments (“CAI”). During 1999 to 2008, he was the CFO/COO & Managing Director of the Citigroup Alternative Investment Division in London and New York, a business with over US$100 billion of assets under management. He established and incorporated many of the funds and had responsibility for finance, risk, compliance and the operational infrastructure, including Head of Technology for “CAI” in Europe. From 1994-1997, he was Group Accountant of the “CAI” division and subsequently became a senior analyst on the fixed income desk.

From 2009 to 2014 Peter was the Chief Financial Officer of Samena Capital, a principal investment group with total capital commitments in excess of US$1 billion, with three regulated investment advisors based in London (FCA), Dubai (DFSA) and Hong Kong (SFC). Samena invested in multiple asset classes, including hedge funds and private equity partnerships. Peter established and managed the financial, risk, investor services/relations, compliance, operational and technology infrastructure at Samena Capital. He established and incorporated the regulated offices in Hong Kong, Bahrain and the Dubai Head Office in the DIFC, obtaining a DFSA license. He was also instrumental in the structuring and launch of several hedge funds and private equity partnerships, domiciled in Cayman, BVI and Luxembourg.

He is a qualified Management Accountant and spends his spare time with his family, keeping fit and working with schools and local employers creating a Career academy for the UAE and GCC.
